I'm having a hard time grasping exactly how or what happened in the first place.

The patient's daughter said this happened. She went to the charge nurse, who denied it. It then goes to administration who....fired the nurses.

Do we honestly believe that nurses taped this woman's mouth shut--a woman who was completely rational, NOT demented? How did they expect that it WOULDN'T result in firing at the very least, and assault charges?

I just don't know that I believe this is what actually happened....of COURSE if it DID that's a different story entirely (bring on the criminal proceedings) but...where's the proof?

*Just shakes my head* Wouldn't it have been easier to just go to the blanket warmer and get her a warm blanket?

That poor lady must have been in pretty bad shape, for that to even have happened in the first place. I was very much on my own when I was in the hospital, but, if anyone had tried that with me, they would have been fed the entire roll of tape, badly infected GB or resulting surgery notwithstanding.

I struggle as well with this lady just laying there allowing them to tape her mouth shut. I would have screamed the place down. Hmmm I wonder if there is more to this story that meets the eyes or the fingers of the press?

I am thinking she could not speak English to start with and it went down hill from there.

If it is true I am gobsmacked and those nurses deserve the very best wrath of the law.
