Default Another wrongful termination

Nurse Sues St. Francis, Claims She Lost Job After Saving Patient's Life - Hartford Courant

If I understand this correctly, The Cardiologist did not want to float a new compatible temp wire and the nurse was his convenient scapegoat.

I'm just wondering how this nurse is doing now.

I got fired after 30 years at the same hospital. It stung because I did nothing wrong other than make too much money. 19 nurses in their 50's got fired within 6 months. My husband was unemployed at the time and unemployment had run out. So we had no income and no health insurance. I felt like I had been gutted. I fought thru the EOC. I ended up getting reinstated and paid for the months I had been out of work. I chose not to go back there but rather transferred to another hospital within the same corporation. Worked another 5 years until I graduated with my FNP. Happy I fought them!

Thirty years of service and they treat you like your nothing. It is appalling how intelligent, ethical nurses are treated. This happened to my friend, but she did not file with the EEOC within 90 days for age discrimination and the case was dismissed.
Good for you for fighting back, winning and getting on with your life.
