Default What Would Florence do?

It's been more than two centuries since Florence Nightingale’s approaches to health care were established. With all our technological advancements, how would her nursing principles fare?

I think she would be gobsmacked at the overload on nurses, lack of good nursing care due to that overload. I think she would be amazed at the technology but to see how nursing care has changed at the actual bedside, she would roll over in her grave!!

What Sabby said, plus she'd FREAK at the amount of hours a week we spend on charting strictly to CYA. Not on bedside care, but on charting to keep the ungrateful from legally separating us from our hard-earned property.

In Flo's day, people were more likely just grateful to receive care than to devise ways of digging into the caregiver's pockets for a windfall.

Very well said indeed.
