Default Research Question

Hello everyone, I am writing to ask a question in regards to school. I have to do a research question but we are not allowed to use Google scholar, publine, medline,CINAHL. We are to use evidence based research sites and I am having a very hard time trying to figure out where to find this information. I have to find 5 databases that relate to the following...........

"ADDRESSING THE NURSING SHORTAGE AND HOW TO RECRUIT MORE NURSES INTO THE PROFESSION"

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda,

Look in your school library. I am assuming it's online. They should have several databases.

Also try Inspire.

Good luck!!

Nurseforever ~~~ Thank you so much for the sites. I will definitely check them out!

Karen ~~ I have tried my library at school, does not seem to be working out due to the restricted sites and not being able to use any Journal articles. Thank you!

I had a similar paper to do last year. I believe that my professor gave us a list of evidenced based databases. I will check into it and let you know Tuesday morning.

Lordy, I'm so glad I don't have to write this paper! Reason being I don't believe for one nanosecond that there IS a nursing shortage, just a refusal of hospitals to hire the tidal wave of new grads flowing out of school every year. No need to recruit ANYONE into nursing, from what I've seen...there's already several hundred, if not thousands who will leave the field before they get IN the field because they can't get hired.

Sorry, not planning a hijack, just that I *HATE* the topic you have to deal with.

If I come up with anything constructive, though, I'll be sure to post it!

I believe that library links to nursing articles offered at Chamberlain and most universities are databases.

I went to look for the links that I used and at both Chamberlain and the University where I'm going now they're telling me that CINAHL, PubMed, Cochran, etc....are databases.

Try this link: Chamberlain College of Nursing Library Services - Home. There is a database tutorial on this page.

If I remember correctly you're at Chamberlain?

What is the subject of the research paper? I still have my papers and I can send you the bibliography page and that would contain the databases. I would think anyway.
