Default Anyone know how to research this?

My group for "Nursing Trends and Issues" is doing a project on.........guess what............drug diversion.

My portion of the project deals specifically with how many nurses who are addicted begin down the path of addiction in nursing school. They pass the initial drug screen and background check because they have no history, but then begin abusing anti-depressants and anti-anxieties in school. Hence, there is a need for more monitoring and support while in school, post admission to the program.

It dawned on me though that maybe not all schools have the same admission policies/procedures. Especially when comparing different states. I'd like to look into how different schools may be less/more strict about who they allow into the program with regards to criminal records and drug testing. I'd also like to look into which states have the highest incidence of drug diversion and/or lost license for diverting drugs.

I'm having NO LUCK finding articles or sites that would list this info. Any help would be appreciated.

I would start with your local nursing board, they all have a recovery division.

I'll see if I can find something for you at the university I'm going to and I'll get back to you.

Oh, thank you very much. I'm trying so hard to stay ahead this semester. I just finished a paper that isn't due until late October lol.

I'm so bad at finding data I need.
