Default Question of the Week for February 5th!

Would you rather be a kid for your whole life, or an adult for your whole life? But before you jump to an answer, remember all that was great and terrible about being a child, and all that is great and terrible about being a grownup!

Childhood for me involved a lot of adult responsibilities, so I have to choose being an adult. Wouldn't want to do the childhood thing again.

Adult. I was painfully shy as a child and had to kind of eeek my way through all tall, gangly and misfit.

I'm much better now!

Adult, definitely. I was a shy, geeky kid who was too smart and too tall and bullied on a regular basis. I wouldn't wish that life on anyone.

Adult for sure. I ran away from home for a reason. Could not pay me enough to have to live with my parents again. We have a much better relationship living apart.

I'll choose being a child forever. Those were some of the best years of my life. I was carefree and didn't know a thing about any adult worries. My mom was always home. I had several very close girlfriends. Now if I had to be a teenager the rest of my life....uh no, that was the awkward part of my life and one I would definitely not like to repeat unless I could know then what I already know now.

About 5 weeks after I broke my ankle and got stuck in the apartment, cabin fever finally caused an anxiety attack (immediately followed by an enbarrassment attack) that made Aharon take me to an emergency room. I had to answer a shrink's questions, one of which was about whether or not I was contemplating suicide. I looked her straight in the eye, and replied, "Hell, no. With my luck, there probably is such a thing as reincarnation, and I'd have to go through adolescence again." Probably the first laugh she'd had all shift.

That said, I would definitely want to be an adult. Like several of you, I didn't have a very wonderful childhood, and I ended up knowing too much too soon. At least, as an adult, I could take charge of things.

I had an awesome time as a child with my darling Mum, Dad and bro's.

But then again I am having much more fun as an adult so I choose adult so I can be with the love of my life.

Very interesting question!

My childhood was pretty good. Was anxious, not good at sports, clearly one of the geeks at school. But had a great family and a pretty stable life.

Adulthood has been more of a mixed bag, I've had good times and bad. I miss the old days frequently. But I feel more confident as an adult, and I've always been more mature than average.

So it's an interesting question, and I've thought about it before:

I would decide to be an adult.

Thank you all for the thoughtful responses! Not a simple question for most of us. Me, I'm still debating this back and forth with myself....so much of my childhood I would never ever want to relive, but then again, could say the same about my adulthood :)

Hmm....
