Default The difference between IV fluids

Water makes up 55%–65% of an average adult's body weight.

A newborn is made up of about 95% water

An elderly or obese person is made up of 40% water.

A loss of body water, acute or chronic, can cause mild light headedness, convulsions, coma, and can even cause death.

IV fluid therapy can be a lifesaver but giving the wrong fluid can be deadly.
